Phil & Friends w/ Trey
I decided to check out the Phil & Friends snow show with Trey. After downloading all day yesterday, I was able to listen to it this morning.
Here is the setlist again, in case your scroll wheel is busted:
The copy I listened to was the soundboard Phil released for the fans. It was a crisp board with the ambience of a matrix recording. Phil's bass was clear and heavy.
The non-Dead songs are the ones that did it for me this show. "Up on Cripple Creek" was the best song of the night by far. "All Along the Watchtower", "Gimmee Shelter", "Wolfman's Brother" and "Midnight Hour" all were darn good versions.
The jamming, in the second set especially, was really strong. Definitely Trey's strength with this band. This show is worth picking up just for that.
(In the copy I downloaded, there was some minor digi-noise during Eyes and major noise during GDTRFB.)
