New Archival Grateful Dead Series Announced
First, thanks to Dr Pauly for adding me to the team! I've been a Deadhead and fan of MaxCreek for close to 30 years as well as other JamBands. I followed the Dead up and down the East Coast and to California during the eighties. I'll have a review of the 11/03/07 Ratdog show from the Palace Theater in Albany NY up as soon as I can sit down and patch my bones as well as a little bit more about myself.
Over the years, like many of you I've accumulated numerous Dicks Picks. That series was retired when archivist Dick Latvala passed away after 36 releases. There have been other releases over the years such as the From the Vault Series Volumes I-III, and various releases of the studio albums in boxed set collections.
I just received an email from Dead.net that the first release in a new series called Road Trips has been announced. This looks to be pretty sweet, highlighting key performances from various tours. The first one is from the East Coast Fall Tour of 1979. The first disc consists of the following tracks:
DISC 1:
1) Alabama Getaway
2) Promised Land
3) Jack Straw
4) Deal
5) Dancing In the Street
6) Franklin's Tower
7) Wharf Rat
8) I Need a Miracle
9) Bertha
10) Good Lovin'
DISC 2
1) Shakedown Street
2) Passenger
3) Terrapin Station
4) Playing In the Band
5) Not Fade Away
6) Morning Dew
BONUS DISC

3) Lost Sailor
4) Saint of Circumstance
5) Jam
