Jerry Garcia Documentary: You Can't Take It With You

Fascinating BBC documentary about the hoopla surrounding the estate of Jerry Garcia after he passed away in 1995. It makes Garcia's widow Deborah Koons look like a greedy bitch.

It makes her look like a greedy bitch because she was/is.

The BBC does their best to remain neutral in their documentaries (instead of slanted-US faux-journalism) and they present both sides of this tragic story. Under that journalistic constraint, she still managed to look bloody awful.

Ahh yes the black widow: Deborah Koonos Garcia. had the audacity to put Jerry's ashes in the most polluted river in the world: the Ganges.

Phil Lesh, in his book Searching For The Sound, goes into detail on the incident at the dock when Koons refused to let Mountain Girl join the group as they set out to spread Jerry's ashes in San Francisco bay. "Ugly" only begins to describe this woman and her intentions. Such a shame. But the music lives on!

Don't think I'll be buying anymore Cherry Garcia or those cool ties, knowing where the $$ goes.
