Upcoming music in Denver/Boulder STS9>>Big Easy Blowout

This weekend I am going to the X-Games in Aspen, Colorado. I am kind of music-ed out for right now because of the recent Bisco 4 night run, but I will be missing some great performances this weekend in Denver and Boulder. Here are the details:

Sound Tribe Sector 9 - Friday 1/25 and Saturday 1/26 at The Fillmore.
STS9 comes back to Colorado after their great New Year's Run. They always put on a good show at the Fillmore- I think it is one of their favorite places to play. To get ready, check out their show from 12/31/07.

At the same time as STS9 on Friday night Boulder, and I guess it could be considered an after-party for STS9 on Saturday though it is not officially, Page McConnell is bringing some Mardi Gras funk to the Boulder Theater and dirty Denver hippie mafia hangout Cervantes. It has been mentioned here before, but here are some more details:

Big Easy Blowout featuring Page McConnell of Phish
January 25 at Boulder Theatre - Boulder, CO - doors at 7:30PM - Tickets @ $25
Featuring: Page McConnell, Russell Batiste, Papa Mali, Reed Mathis and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux

January 26 at Cervantes - Denver, CO - doors at 9:00PM - Tickets @ $25
Featuring: Page McConnell, Russell Batiste, Papa Mali, Reed Mathis and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux

These shows will be totally different.

Boulder Theater will have Page on a full Grand Piano, will have New Orleans food being catored and a silent auction with festival tickets, Signed Pollock posters, and tons of other great gifts.

Cervantes Masterpiece show will have Page on a B3 Organ and they are going to have Hurricane drink specials, and tons of other huge surprises to help add to the party! This show will also not start until 11:45 and go into the wee hours of the morning.

* 100% of proceeds from this event will be going to The New Orleans Musicians Clinic and The Tipitina's foundation.

In addition, the "official" STS9 After Party is at the Gothic Theater on Sat night with STS9 doing a live PA set w/Richard Devine. And for those that didn't get enough Disco Biscuits last weekend, side project Conspirator will play Friday night post STS9 at Cervantes.

So if you are around, check it out. Should be a fund time in Denver/Boulder once again.
