Today in Phishtory: 4.3.98 Nassau - The Island Tour

Phish achieved perfection in 1998.

Sadly, I wasn't at the Island shows. I was living in Seattle at the time and I couldn't afford to fly to the east coast. Several of my friends caught the shows and said that they were fantastic. I eventually heard a show or two on a ratty cassette tape.

Thankfully Phish released the shows and I was able to hear them all. Click here to buy 4.3.98 via LivePhish.com.

Anyway, here's the second night of that infamous Island Tour which happened 10 years ago to this day...
4.3.98 Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY

Set I: Mike's Song> Old Home Place, Weekapaug Groove, Train Song, Billy Breathes, Beauty of my Dreams, Dogs Stole Things, Reba, My Soul

Set II: Roses are Free > Piper > Loving Cup > Run Like An Antelope

Encore: Carini > Halley's Comet, Tweezer Reprise
If you don't know, someone ran up on stage and Pete Carini tackled him. That night's version of Antelope includes references to Carini.

Go download/listen to 4.3.98 now (via PhiSHows.com).

By the way, here's a video of Carini courtesy of Silverchair97.

i love this show. is there another Mikes>Old Home Place? dont think so. I remember listening to this show for the first time in a car somewhere and getting into the Mike's jam and then being like "wtf is going on?" when the segue happens...

Second set + Encore is Phish perfection. special stuff.
